All of it has purpose. There is a deeper meaning to our journey. There is a higher calling. The events in our lives aren’t merely a marker for days spent on this earth. No, they are building blocks of character and the opportunity for cleansing sanctification in a believer’s life. They are a path. A narrow road that is both difficult and rewarding.

Someone needs to hear all about it. Someone somewhere is waiting for you to share what you’ve been through and how you survived. They need hope, they need help. They need to know they aren’t alone.

Your story thwarts Satan’s plans
We know that God has a plan for our lives, but did you know Satan has one too? He wants to steal from us, he wants us to die, he wants to destroy us in every way imaginable but we have a weapon. It’s called our testimony.
If you share your testimony with someone and that person is encouraged, it may literally change the course of their life. Your story, which may feel so unremarkable to you, may be a lifeline for another person who is drowning. They might find the courage to keep going when they had lost all hope, effectively derailing Satan’s plans for their destruction.
Your story provides a bird’s eye view
You have the power of perspective after the fact that you don’t have in the middle of a struggle. Time has a way of giving us a bird’s eye view, of gifting us with lessons that were previously hidden from sight.
Staying rooted in scripture reminds us that there are bigger forces at play. Seeing life through the lens of salvation and the work of the cross helps us look down at our life from a higher plane, one where we are part of a grander story and our part is vital to the whole.
